This course has been very useful and insightful! Dr. Salman is an excellent teacher with years of experience, reflected by the way he imparts knowledge, advice, and tips. The course can help in improving history taking skills and communication skills, both essential for PACES. It will also lead to fine tuning the approach to clinical consultations, the part of the exam carrying the highest marks. Clinical consultations can be difficult to tackle, and often can be hard to master. Dr. Salman teaches an approach to take a detailed history, formulate at least three logical differentials (one should be the likely diagnosis), do a focused clinical exam, and present in a confident way. Following this, he teaches you to tackle the viva in a way that makes you confident about that particular topic. After practice of cases with him, one will learn how to approach tricky cases, and will learn to build clinical skills needed for PACES. For communication skills stations, he teaches a structured approach that ensures that nothing will be missed. There are often marks for little details that can get missed if we don’t mention them. I highly recommend this course to anyone preparing for PACES. Or anyone wanting to improve their history taking and communication skills for any clinical exam. One can start with a listener slot to get an idea of how it works followed by active participant slots. Even listening can be very helpful at the start of PACES prep. He often does free sessions; those shouldn’t be missed either!
